Still no baby yet. I am 5 days overdue. I have a dr's appt today at 4pm... Last time I was there (thursday) I was still only 1 CM dilated and 50% effaced. I hope to god I am more today. I NEED to be more! Everyone is having their baby before me, and I was due first! Damn you all! My cousin who wasnt due until April, had her twins Saturday night, and then a lady I know who was due on the 21st had her son at like 12 15am today. How freakin lucky, 15 minutes after her due date or somethin. Her doc was pretty good with that due date lol. I still havent felt any real pain... I've had a few cramps, but nothing that was to bad, or that lasted for very long. But I do feel constant pressure. Doesnt hurt, just gets uncomfortable after awhile. I am just so impatient. Cam has been here for a week already, and he has to go back to Bing to work at the end of the month. He said he is gonna stay for 2 weeks AFTER hes born... but its gonna be hard for him to take that much time off of work. He needs to make money, because I cant. I really wish I could. I hate not having money, and sitting on my ass all day long, doing nothing.

I am so freakin tired and I can't sleep at all. My body is achy. My hips hurt and my muscles in my abdomen hurt from when I pulled it. We've been walking around places everyday to get my labor going. We walked to wegmans yesterday. I think I need to get some really really spicy food, see if that works... I am willing to try anything right about now... I just want him to be born already!

"It's hard to say for sure how big your baby will be, but the average newborn weighs in at a little over 7 pounds and is about 20 inches long. Your baby will continue to grow with every passing day (his nails and hair will continue to get longer, too). Your baby's skull bones are still separated and they'll stay that way to allow the bones to compress enough to fit through the birth canal during labor (you'll notice soft spots or "fontanels" on your baby's head for a year or more after birth)."

I am officially one day over due. I have a feeling I am probably going to be about a week overdue, which sucks sooo bad. I am totally ready to get him out of me, and get the whole labor and delivery thing done and over with. *sigh*

How your baby's growing: Your baby's ready to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) Your baby's organs are fully developed and in place, and the outer layers of skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

How your life's changing: "If the week passes and your baby stays put, don't panic. Only 5 percent of babies are born on their scheduled due date. And your baby can't make you wait indefinitely for his arrival. If you go past your due date, your provider will schedule you for fetal testing (usually a sonogram) after 40 weeks to ensure that it's safe to continue the pregnancy. If you don't go into labor on your own, most practitioners will induce labor when you're between one and two weeks overdue."

I do NOT want to wait THAT LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!! INDUCE ME NOW!

"Your baby has really fattened up. He likely weighs between 6 and 7 1/2 pounds now (boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls), and he's probably between 19 and 20 inches long. He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test with your pinky! His organs are fully developed and in place, but his lungs and brain — though developed enough for him to function now — will continue to mature right through childhood.

Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If your baby is born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he's born, but they won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)"

Any day now ... better be soon man, I can't take much more of being pregnant!!

I just realized, I havent updated this thing in almost 3 weeks. I have to put up, 35, 36 and as of tomorrow 37 weeks!! AHH!! I've been super busy with dr's appts, school and the shower this weekend! It's all getting here so fast.. and I am so not ready ... >_<

35 Weeks: "Your baby's getting big. He weighs a tad over 5 pounds and is just over 18 inches long. Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight."

36 weeks: "Your baby is still putting on the pounds — about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds and is a little less than 19 inches long. He's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the creamy substance that covered and protected his skin during its submersion in amniotic fluid. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, which will stay in his bowels until birth. This blackish mixture, called meconium, will become his first bowel movement.

At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Babies between 37 and 42 weeks are considered full-term; a baby born before 37 weeks is pre-term and after 42 is post-term.) Most likely he's in a head-down position by now, which is optimal for a smooth delivery, but if he isn't in the next week, your provider may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position manually, by manipulating her from the outside of your belly."

37 weeks (tomorrow!!): "Congratulations! Your pregnancy is now considered full term — meaning your baby is developmentally ready to handle life outside the womb. (Babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 weeks are post-term.) Your baby probably weighs a little over 6 pounds at this point and measures between 19 and 20 inches, head to heel.

Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children are born blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz."

Well, from my last ultra sound, which was a week ago, they said he measured to weigh about 6lbs 13 oz. He is a BIG baby. My tummy is HUGE!! If you want to see some pics of me and of him, check out my webshots! http://community.webshots.com/user/mommamayer317 .

How he's growing: "Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is probably almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which he'll need to regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His central nervous system is still maturing and his lungs are well developed by now. If you've been nervous about going into preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that 99 percent of babies this age can survive outside the womb — and most have no major long-term problems related to prematurity. "

God, it just keeps getting closer and closer ...

"This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and measures 17.2 inches from the top of his head to his heels. His skin is becoming less red and wrinkled, and while most of his bones are hardening, his skull is quite pliable and not completely joined. This will help him ease out of your relatively narrow birth canal."
